Taraneh Maghamé is highly regarded for her unique combination of strategic IP licensing know-how, government relations, and policy expertise. Until June 2022, she was Vice President of Wireless Programs and Corporate Development at Via Licensing, a subsidiary of Dolby, responsible for Via’s strategic multi-party licensing programs for wireless technologies. After leaving Via, she established Maghame IP Consulting to provide clients with services focused on IP strategy, licensing, transactions and policy matters.

Prior to joining Via, Ms. Maghamé was Senior Counsel for Licensing and Standards at Apple, as well as Vice President for M&A and Patent Policy at Tessera Technologies. While at Tessera, she co-founded the Innovation Alliance to represent the views of innovative technology companies on patent reform matters and was invited to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and the FTC. She has also held senior IP counsel positions at HP and Compaq and was a member of major law firms including Brobeck and Perkins Coie.

In 2018, Ms. Maghamé was appointed to the European Commission’s Expert Group on Licensing and Valuation of SEPs. She has held leadership roles in the Association of Corporate Counsel, IPO Association, Federal Circuit Bar Association, and California Women Lawyers. She speaks frequently on IP matters and is a thought-leader on a wide range of issues related to patent licensing and policy.

Ms. Maghame is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and admitted to practice in California, Washington State and before the USPTO.
