Seth is an intellectual property partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office and co-chair of its life sciences group. He focuses his practice on IP protection, licensing, strategy, and disputes, as well as research transactions and operations, particularly in life sciences and health care. Seth works with clients to implement strategies for international IP protection and enforcement, to structure business relationships around the development and commercialization of life sciences technologies, and to support clinical research programs for both nonprofit and for-profit clients. Seth has unique experience working with academic and healthcare institutions to develop and support their technology transfer programs and is among the few IP attorneys to have led a comprehensive patent licensing and litigation campaign to directly enforce university IP rights. He also acts as outside general counsel to emerging growth companies, including those that do business with academic and healthcare institutions. Seth is a graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. in agricultural and biological engineering and earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School. Seth regularly presents both nationally and internationally on emerging IP issues, and he has received numerous awards and recognitions for his leadership and work in the life sciences, IP, and public interest communities.
