EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AT COLUMBIA TECHNOLOGY VENTURES
Orin Herskowitz is SVP of Applied Innovation and Industry Partnerships for Columbia, as well as Executive Director of Columbia Technology Ventures (CTV), and an Adjunct Professor for Columbia’s Intellectual Property for Entrepreneurs course. He has been a peer reviewer for innovation and entrepreneurship awards for the National Science Foundation and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities; has been a board member or on the leadership team of many technology accelerator programs; is or has been a board member for the Center for American Entrepreneurship and Incubate, a senior Fellow for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and a member of the National Advisory Committee on Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the Secretary of Commerce under both the Obama and Biden Administrations.
Each year, Columbia Technology Ventures receives roughly 400 inventions, files over 200 patent applications, executes over 100 patent licenses, and helps start 20 – 30 startups. It also supports Columbia’s 10+ lab-to-market technology accelerators in carbon reduction, rare diseases, oncology, computational biology, advanced materials, data analytics, medical devices, and other fields.
