Katie partners with innovators to identify patent assets that can be protected and enforced to enhance a client’s competitive position in the marketplace. Katie is driven to help her clients attain their business objectives through strategic portfolio curation and comprehensive monetization strategies. She has significant experience collaborating with clients to generate custom portfolios receiving multimillion dollar valuations.
Katie’s keen technical skills allow her to work in partnership with clients to identify the best opportunities to protect and monetize their technology. She provides counsel to companies of all sizes, ranging from start-ups to unicorns and publicly traded entities. Katie develops multinational strategies tailored to a client’s individual needs. She is known for her experience with developing monetization strategies, conducting IP due diligence, negotiating licensing rights, using intellectual property to secure debt and equity-based loans, generating revenue through collaborations, and determining patent value.
Katie has significant experience helping high-growth pharmaceutical and biotech companies to develop and monetize intellectual property strategies worldwide to help them compete in the global economy. She regularly advises life science companies in a broad range of transactions, including technology licensing, strategic partnerships, research and development, and intellectual property ownership.
Katie enjoys being able to educate and give back to the entrepreneur community. She partners with organizations including the MIT Sandbox, MassChallenge, and Oregon Bioscience Incubator to serve as a mentor and provide pro-bono legal counseling and strategic advice to start-ups.
