When it comes to courtroom achievements, few people have more trial experience and success than McKool Smith’s Jennifer Truelove. She is one of the pre-eminent trial lawyers in Texas and among the leaders of the nation’s female plaintiffs’ bar. Over the past year alone, she’s secured nearly one billion in verdicts for clients. Her courtroom prowess is further confirmed by her induction into the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2023, which is one of the nation’s most elite honorary societies for lawyers.
Her recent victories include a massive $1.4 billion settlement on behalf of the State of Texas against Meta Platforms/Facebook, a $445 million patent infringement verdict on behalf of Netlist against Micron Technology Inc., a $192 million patent infringement verdict on behalf of Mojo Mobility against tech giant Samsung, and a $142 million patent damages verdict on behalf of G+ Communications against Samsung.
Jennifer’s trial skills have garnered recognition from Managing IP, Best Lawyers in America, The Legal 500, and she was most recently awarded “Texas Attorney of the Year” by Texas Lawyer. Jennifer is also very involved in mentoring McKool Smith’s women lawyers and helping to develop the next generation of female principals and leaders in the firm. Most recently, she took a leadership role in the Firm’s Women’s Leadership Development Programming.
Prior to joining McKool Smith, Jennifer was the first assistant district attorney of Harrison County, Texas, where she prosecuted felony cases involving injury and assault of children and represented the Department of Family and Protective Services in cases where children and adults were taken into protective custody. During her seven-year tenure with the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office, Jennifer honed her courtroom skills and became a particularly effective litigator in front of East Texas juries. She is also a trained mediator.
