Gary Sorden serves as lead counsel on intellectual property matters related to patent, copyright, trade secret, trademark, and trade dress issues. Gary’s professional recognition includes his selection as a Texas Rising Star in the area of intellectual property litigation for six consecutive years as well as being selected as an “Up-and-Coming 100” Rising Star in 2017 and 2018. 

Gary has represented clients on both sides of the aisle in federal and state matters as well as alternative dispute resolution forums. Gary specializes in monetization and the development of intellectual property for his clients in all forums including district and appellate courts as well as the International Trade Commission. His litigation experience also includes representing clients in a wide variety of matters including commercial, oil and gas, business, class actions, and product liability matters. Gary’s diverse litigation experience allows him to provide comprehensive representation in a wide-variety of litigation matters while also maintaining the business objectives of his clients. Gary also works with clients on the development of intellectual property including product and company branding strategies as well as the development of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Gary has represented numerous companies in Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs) as lead counsel with many successful results. Gary earned his law degree from Texas Tech School of Law and holds a M.S. in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University as well as a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas-Pan American.
